The Internal Medicine department provides advanced diagnostics and treatment for a wide variety of internal medical problems including heart, lung, gastrointestinal, liver/gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidney, urinary bladder, endocrine disorders and cancer. 24-hour hospitalization is available for patients requiring intensive treatment.

GARY P. OSWALD, DVM, MS, DACVIM

Dr. Gary P. Oswald, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, is a board-certified specialist in the field of veterinary internal medicine. Dr. Oswald is a Cleveland Ohio native and received his BS and DVM degrees from the Ohio State University. He interned at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey and then completed a medical residency/masters degree in Internal Medicine at Colorado State University. He is the author of multiple veterinary articles and presents continuing education series lectures throughout the United States, Caribbean, and Central America. He has been in private specialty practice since 1991 and is currently the department head of Internal Medicine and department co-head of Emergency services at Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center. He evaluates patients with internal medicine, cardiopulmonary, oncology and emergency problems.


KELLI WEAVER, VMD, DACVIM

Dr. Kelli Weaver received her V.M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed an internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta, Georgia and a medical residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts University in Boston, MA. She is a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Her special interest is in endocrinology particularly diabetes mellitus and in nephrology.
