Medical Departments: Physical Rehabilitation & Fitness

The Physical Rehabilitation & Fitness department maximizes patient overall post-operative recovery. In a controlled and supervised manner, our goal is to improve comfort, speed recovery, and optimize overall patient mobility and function. Therapies include:

• Stretching
• Passive and active ROM
• Ice/heat therapy, massage
• Weight-bearing and muscle strengthening exercises
• Balance exercises
• Land treadmill
• Underwater treadmill
• Low level light therapy
• Splinting and bracing

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University (1992)
• Surgical internship at Dallas Veterinary Surgery Center (1992-1993)
• Surgical residency at Iowa State University (1993-1996)
• Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgery since 1999
• Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist since 2006
